What is Desktop Publishing?
Desktop publishing encompasses the entire realm of electronic publishing technol-ogy, including high resolution output devices, digital cameras and scanners for photography, and electronic prepress systems. Defined simply, desktop publishing
is the process of creating pages of text and graphics using a personal computer,
page layout software, and a printer. The computer has made it possible to write, edit, typeset, design, and produce graphics on a single desktop. Today, documents and presentations that used to require an entire team weeks to produce can be efficiently and affordably created by an individual.
